Orphan photographs usually arrive on the historian's doorstep naked and alone with nary a note of provenance pinned to the blanket. Only occasionally will a concerned parent identify their offspring with a few scribbled words. Even less often, will someone tuck an entire story beside the abandoned treasure.
But as we know, dear Reader, miracles do happen.
